I am absolutely delighted to announce that I am having an impromptu exhibition at the prestigious Michael Reid Murrurundi Gallery this July.
I was contacted late May by the very supportive and encouraging Director of this gallery, Michelle Kludas, with a proposition. Can I get 10 paintings done by July. I was intrigued and said yes, of course. Although I knew it was going to be tight, but whatever it was for I definitely didn’t want to miss whatever this opportunity was to be.
Well, it turned out to be an exhibition!!! My second within six months. They had a very last minute gap in their schedule and they asked if I could fill it. Well of course I could… I think… Hence the title, “Ten Impossible Things” (plus it is rather unlikely that these whimsical scenarios I am currently painting are ever going to happen… rosellas having a tea party, honestly!) As you can tell I am continuing on with my Lewis Carroll inspiration, and although the original quote is “six impossible things before breakfast” courtesy of the Red Queen from the ‘Looking Glass’, I thought I would make it my own.
So for the month of July and August, if you find yourself in the gorgeous town of Murrurundi, pop in to Michael Reid’s Gallery there and see my little birdies taking tea in such prestigious surroundings. If you can’t make it to the gallery in person, you can view the entire exhibition online here.
What an absolutely amazing response to my little birdies! All ten paintings sold out in ten days!
