Flannel flowers are my favourite flowers, there is something comforting about their fuzziness. We have them growing wild on our property, although none this year due to the drought, so I missed their soft abundance. This painting refers to the simple things about living here which make me happy. A cup of tea in my favourite cup, my favourite flower and wrens, how can you not be uplifted by wrens and their waggily tail antics. All these things bring me comfort, just like a warm hug. This piece was one of the three paintings submitted for a collaborative group show between Michael Reid Murrurundi and Country Style Magazine.
