When I was asked to paint something for the Still Life in the Australian Landscape group show at the Milk Factory Gallery in Bowral, I knew that I wanted to paint ginger jars and bower birds… referencing the satin bower bird’s penchant for blue… This painting was sold the first day of hanging, and taken away. The gallery very quickly contacted me to see if I had something else I could show.
