This commission was from a lovely lady in the US who wanted to give her friend a little painting which had special meaning for them both, tea, violets and a beautiful cardinal. It was wonderful to have an excuse to paint a different bird to our usual suspects. It was my first cardinal but I hope it wont be my last.
