This little local native finch, the diamond firetail, is listed as being ‘vulnerable’ in New South Wales. It makes me feel especially lucky to say that it is alive and well in the Mudgee region… even if I haven’t seen one on our property, I have seen them elsewhere. What a stunning little bird, it just needed a pretty Royal Grafton porcelain teacup to perch upon.
